KlmDwn[Gonr] - Knxwledge (WrapTaypes.Port2[bootleg], 2012)
Hands down one of the most fascinating people making stuff right this minute is Knxwledge who here takes a Youtube video of a young rapper named Bricks and erases the music, inserts his own, and makes magic. Not that the original video is bad, in fact it’s pretty stellar but I think the most creative and fun and mindblowing digital art happening on the internet right now is this kind of stuff where “low” and “high” culture meet and explode that fake binary. Call it Tumblr. Call it Mass Ornament. Whatever it is is goddamn spectacular.
edit: According to the Youtube comments I’m reading Bricks is in jail in Philly for 30-70 years on a murder charge. Everything is fucked sometimes.
